Double demonstration construction is a project that compares two construction philosophies by building and upgrading two demonstration buildings. The goal is to validate and compare the two philosophies through the use of 6D-BIM to record and analyze the buildings.

How it works

  • Two demonstration buildings are constructed using available resources
  • The buildings are upgraded with new materials and components
  • Each version of the buildings is recorded in 6D-BIM
  • The 6D-BIM records are used to compare the cost, material efficiency, and energy efficiency of the two buildings
Benefits The open-source and multifunctional design approach allows for repair, reuse, and substitution The 6D-BIM records allow for the comparison of the two buildings and their different versions.
